July was a busy month in our house. We celebrated both of our babies birthdays, my son Jaxson turned 4 and it was my daughter Charleston’s first birthday! I decided that it was easier to just celebrate both of their birthdays on the same day with both my husbands and my family. The focus as far as decor was for my daughter, as it was her first birthday. I decided the theme would be a Flamingo theme- Let’s Flamingle! There were flamingoes and pineapples of course, sparkly table cloths, decadent sweats, a gorgeous cake, Krispy Kremes, a bubbly bar and tonnes of delicious food thanks to my mom & dad. We had a gorgeous Sunday afternoon celebrating both of our kids, with our families. Hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do!

One year ago today, July 18, at 3:57 a.m. weighing 7 pounds 5 ounces, my precious fancyface was born. You were born in the wee hours of the morning, before the sun was up and surprised us all when you made your grand appearance and we were told you were a baby girl. Throughout my entire pregnancy, I would call you my "little man", to say I was shocked is putting it mildly.
You didn't have a name for 3 days, and we called you baby girl. I finally decided to name you Charleston, after one of the most gorgeous cities that I have been to, and you suit it perfectly- you are beautiful, warm and have an inner light that is indescribable. You smile with your eyes and your eyes light up when you see your Big Brother. You love to laugh, play peek-a-boo and try to keep up and chase your brother. You have brought so much joy, laughter and love to my life fancyface, and I am so happy that God chose me to be your momma.
I have mentioned in my posts before that I never thought I would have a daughter, and when you, my sweet baby girl was born, my life changed forever. My heart grew with love even more than I could of imagined. This past year has gone by too quickly, Happy 1st Birthday to my funny, sweet, beautiful fancyface Charleston!
My mom has called me fancyface since I was a baby, which was 33 years ago. She would call me that everyday, whether I was wearing sweatpants, or covered in mud and sticky ice cream or clean and dressed like a princess, that no matter what I always had a fancy face. The original fancyface nickname was from a character Hope from Days of Lives. My mom always thought I looked like her, dark hair & eyes- a natural beauty. Now, I call you my baby girl fancyface because you look just like me! Fancyface is also the inspiration behind my blog name, Fancy Little Momma!
Happy 1st Birthday my sweet beauty! I love you more than life itself!
As a momma, I am always on the search for fabulous baby/toddler products. It can be so difficult to navigate through the crazy world of products, what you should/shouldn't purchase, what is actually a great product or a waste of money. After having my son, I quickly learned what brands that I loved and ones that weren't so fabulous. Now, with my daughter, there are a lot of fabulous products that weren't around three years ago.
One of my favourite brands has always been Munchkin. I have been using their products since I had my son and have continued to do so with my daughter. They have so many amazing products to help with all stages of childhood and are amazing quality too- one thing that as a mother is so hard to find. How many sippy cups have you purchased that leak everywhere? Here are some of my Munchkin baby & toddler product favourites that I highly recommend !
Miracle 360 Trainer Cup
This sippy cup is the best one ever. I have gone through so many between both of my kids and I have never found one that can compete with the Miracle 360 Trainer Cup. It is fantastic for a few reasons...the first being that it does not leak, eliminating any potential messes and disasters. Ever had apple juice spill in your purse?! The Miracle 360 cup is easy to use as my daughter can drink from anywhere on the cup without a problem. To say that I am obsessed with this cup is an understatement..what's more, my daughter loves it too!

Muchkin's Sleep Bed Rail
Once our babes make that transition from the crib to a "big" boy or girl bed, we are worried as parents of the potential falls that can happen without the safety of the crib. Not to worry because Muchkin's Sleep Bed Rail is an amazing product for that transition. Not only is it offered in many colours, but what's wonderful is that it fits twin, full and queen sized matresses!

While a baby is in its mother's womb, there are a lot of noises and sounds that help to calm and comfort a baby. The Shhh...Portable Sound Machine is perfect to help soothe and calm cranky and colicky babies. Its a great product and what's more amazing is that its portable and you can take it on the go!

Although products were provided to me for review, all opinions are always my own!
My single greatest accomplishment.
Nothing can prepare you for it. Not books, prenatal classes, Google, friends or even your own mom. Motherhood is amazing. But, it is also messy, chaotic, stressful, dirty and exhausting. Oh and you won't be able to pee alone for a very long time!
Nothing prepares you for the craziness of motherhood, but nothing prepares you for the insane amount of love you have for your babes either. You feel their joy, sadness, sickness, laughter and love. No one needs you and loves you as much as they do. There truly is no greater love.
I get it now. I understand all of the times that I was sad, happy, hurt and sick that my mom went through it all with me. That she felt all of the emotions I did x 1 million. The relationship that my mom and I have is unmatched by any other. When my daughter was born, I couldn't believe that I had a baby girl. I was shocked because I never thought I would have the opportunity to have a mother daughter relationship. Now I am blessed to have special relationships with both of my babies. My mom has always been and continues to be my best friend, my biggest supporter, my biggest critic and my ride or die. I don't know what I would do without her.
As I sit here reflecting on being a mother and on my own mother, I am nursing my baby girl and my son is holding my hair in his hands as he sleeps. Like I said, my single greatest accomplishment; my babies and being their momma.
"Motherhood: All love begins and ends there." - Robert Browning
Before I became a mother, I thought I knew what love was. I loved my family, my husband, and my life. Then I became pregnant with my son Jaxson. As soon as you see those pink lines on the pregnancy test, you are changed forever. The love that you feel for your unborn child is indescribable. You stress, worry, fear, hope and dream for this child that you do not even know yet. And then 9 months later, you meet them and your love multiplies by a million. You get it. You understand what true love is. It’s that feeling deep down in your stomach, a feeling that only a mother can understand. You have one child and you think that you can’t love anyone as much as that sweet baby, and then you have your second and your heart has room to love these two precious babes more than life itself.
Since having my daughter, I feel as though I have not spent as much time with my son. My son has always been a momma’s boy and having his sister take up a lot of momma’s time has been very difficult for him. It has caused him to misbehave more, to act out and to look for attention. He loves his sister and is a great big brother, but I have often found myself disciplining my son non-stop because of his behaviour and lack of listening. Last night, my sweet son opened up my eyes.
Jaxson and I haven’t been out just us two..his little sis is always with us (she won’t take a bottle). Last night, I decided to leave Charleston with my husband, and go out with my boy. I took him for a haircut, we went to the store to pick out what special treats he wanted to bring to his class today (we had already done Valentine’s) and then we got a treat. During our date, my son behaved the best I have seen him in months. He was so great when he was getting his haircut and multiple times said, “I love you, momma”, melt my heart. My baby boy just needed some time with his momma, and this momma just needed some time with her boy.
My little boy taught me about the most important thing, love. Becoming a mother has changed me. It has changed my appreciation for the small things, for time, for these fleeting moments that I will never get back and it has changed my heart. There is no greater love than the love I feel for my children. I hope you all spend today with those you love most! Happy Valentine's Day!
