This past Sunday was my little (not so little) cousin’s 25th Birthday. Becka is a big tea drinker and decided that she wanted to celebrate her 25th Birthday at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto for an afternoon of High Tea. I have been to other Tea Houses and have loved the High Tea and all that it has to offer. Well, the Royal York High Tea is on it’s own level of fabulousness. For those of you who haven’t been to the Hotel, it is stunning. Compiled with vintage décor and marble floors, it screams elegance.
The High Tea takes place in the Library Bar, a smaller room filled with Bookcases, old books and beautiful tables & chairs. It is the perfect setting for an afternoon High Tea. Depending on location, most Tea Rooms will charge anywhere from $20-50 per/person for High Tea. What’s included in a High Tea is: Tea (of course), an assortment of sandwiches, scones with Devonshire cream & jam, and a lovely assortment of deserts and sweet treats. So yummy!
The Fairmont Royal York charges $48.00 per/person and their spread is to die for! After getting 4 sandwiches, I thought I would still be hungry and boy was I wrong. I was so stuffed after the sandwiches, tea, champagne, scones, and deserts that I couldn’t finish that last cheesecake pop (cheesecake on a stick- so delicious).
Because it was Becka’s birthday they also gave her a massive piece of cheesecake! She seemed thrilled with her decision..and so was I! If you’re looking to celebrate a Birthday or Event, I would highly recommend it. Every Sunday should be spent doing High Tea at the Fairmont Royal York! On a sidenote: How cute is my cousin??!!
Happy Thursday! xo, Tara
