Happy Labour Day! This weekend is officially the last weekend of the summer, which for me means back to work. I have had a fantastic summer with my family and I'm really going to miss my little boy. OK, all tears aside, I really want to chat about some fashion rules that I am a big believer in breaking. Before I begin, I wore this gorgeous white romper out for my birthday a couple of weeks ago, it was comfortable and looked beautiful. Continue reading below for my Fashion Rules that Should be Broken.

Fashion Rules that Should be Broken
1. No White After Labour Day
This is a common fashion rule that most people still think exists..think again! I wear white all year round, and if you live in a climate that is still warm well into September and October, why not wear white?! If you are like me and continue to wear it throughout the fall and winter, I would just consider the material of the white clothing ( no linen in the winter!). Winter whites look gorgeous in the dead of winter. This is definitely a rule that needs to be broken!
2. Your Purse and Shoes Should Match
Please don't do this. We have all matched our Purse and Shoes, and while sometimes it's a good idea, most times its not necessary to be so matchy matchy. Try to mix it up, and add in some colour or a purse or shoe with detail. By doing this you will add some interest to your outfit.
3. When in doubt choose a black shoe
For most people who struggle with what colour shoe to wear, black is usually a go to. While black is a classic, I find some outfits need a softer looking shoe and one that doesn't take away from the overall look of the outfit. My suggestion is when you're not sure what colour shoe or pump to wear choose a nude shoe. Nude shoes match everything and they also elongate your legs. It's a win win.
4. Stay on Trend
Now, while I agree with staying on trend, this doesn't mean every trend. There are some trends that are just meant for the runway. And let's not even talk about mixing a bunch of trends into one outfit. I think that while some trends look great and are amazing on the runway, sometimes they just don't suit people and their everyday lives. My advice is always to stay true to you and what your overall style is. Be original, Be you and Be confident.
Enjoy what is left of this gorgeous weekend! Happy Labour Day!
