Christmas shopping can be stressful…especially if you have some difficult people to buy for. …My favorite part of Christmas is my stocking. My mom always makes me the best one..yes I am in my 30’s and still get a stocking lol… Here are just a couple of stocking stuffer ideas for Him & Her.
My husband is definitely the most difficult to buy for because he never really wants anything and does not give me any hints of ideas. He does, however always love to steal my lip chaps and lip balms. I swear he has stolen any that are visible. So, I thought a perfect gift for his stocking would be these Jack Black Ultimate Lip Duo. These classic intense Lip Therapy in Mint and Black Cherry are the ultimate gift for any guy. They have SPF 25 and will help to fight chapped lips in this freezing cold weather!! At least now my husband won’t be stealing my lip chaps!
Everyone wants to have fabulous looking hair during the Holidays and of course any time of the year. This fabulous L'ORÉAL Professional Mythic Oil Line Extension is not only eco- friendly, but is also voted as the best hair oil by consumers. Not only does it offer 10X more natural oil than regular Hair Care, but it also smells ah-mazing and leaves your hair feeling oh so soft! After trying both the Shampoo and Mask, I ca't say enough about this product, I will definitely be recommending it to others, LOVE!
I hope these ideas may help you in your search for the perfect stocking stuffers and gifts!! Happy Shopping! 10 days until Christmas Eve!
Although products in this post were provided to me, all opinons are my own!!
.Happy Friday Eve! Skin care is such an essential part of our beauty regimen. I have always been a lover of face moisturizers and serums, anything to hydrate my skin. My skin tends to be on the drier side, especially in the colder months. I have already started to notice a difference. As we get older, our skin gets older too, some more noticeably than others. Of course factors such as genetics, lifestyle and diet all play a part, we are the ones who can try and control and what rate our skin ages. As I have gotten older and also had babies, I have noticed that my skin has definitely changed.
I was sent these Nivea Q10 plus Anti-Wrinkle skin care products over a month ago and I couldn’t wait to try them out. I have tried other Nivea products in the past and I have always really liked them.
The three products that I tested were the Nivea Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle Replenishing Pearls, Nivea Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream with SPF 30 and the Nivea Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Night Care.
Nivea Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle Replenishing Pearls
These pretty pearls are enriched with Energy coenzyme Q10, Hyaluronic Acid and Creatine. You are supposed to put these on before you put on the Day Cream and Night Care. So far, I have been using them for 4 weeks, I have really liked the Replenishing Pearls, they have a nice consistency, smell and left my skin feeling softer.
Nivea Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream with SPF 30
I absolutely love that it has an SPF, I will never purchase a cream that doesn’t. This day cream smells really pretty, subtle but pretty. It leaves my skin feeling moisturized without feeling greasy or sticky and leaves my skin looking dewy (not oily).
Nivea Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Night Care
I am and always have been a huge fan of night cream. This one I really liked, it is pretty moisturizing and replenishes your skin overnight. I have noticed that my skin has felt a lot more moisturized when I wake up. Have you ever woken up with your skin feeling dry?! I have and there is no worse feeling! I highly recommend this night care
Overall, I would say that I really enjoyed all three products that were sent to me. If you are looking for some good skin care products at a good price point (18.00 CAD) then I highly suggest them. What is also fantastic is that Nivea Canada has a promotion until December 31, 2016 that if you don’t see that your skin is looking smoother and younger in 4 weeks (everyday) than you get your money back.
Thanks for reading !
Although these products were sent to me, all opinions are my own.
Although I don’t post a lot on makeup and beauty, that doesn’t mean that I don’t have an arsenal of makeup and beauty products and ones that I can’t live without. With a New Year approaching who doesn't want to try some new beauty products?! New Year, New You (nique)!
I had never tried Younique products prior to my friend Stephanie introducing them to me. Stephanie is a teacher, a momma and she sells Younique on the side and raves about their products. While I don’t wear a lot of makeup, I do love my essentials: mascara, eyeliner, lip liner, lip gloss and bronzer. Stephanie let me choose any products that I was interested in trying out.
I decided to go with the popular and new formula of their 3D+ Mascara, Lucrative Lip Gloss, Precision Liners, Beachfront Bronzer, Glorious Face and Eye Primer. Younique cosmetics development processes utilize scientific research to ensure that their products contain high quality ingredients that enrich and nourish the skin. The result is a beautifully efficacious product that is safely compatible with virtually every skin type.
This mascara is Younique’s claim to fame (I believe), and for good reason. I really love this mascara, the volume and length that the mascara and the fibres provide for your lashes. It is $35 dollars and comparable in price to high end mascaras, I find that this one is way better in providing your lashes with length and volume. Loved this! I will definitely be repurchasing this product!
Lucrative Lip Gloss
I am a lip gloss freak! I have at least 5 lip glosses in each of my purses. One thing that I hate about glosses are the ones that are super sticky and ones that taste yucky. Lucky for you, these Younique lip glosses are sheer with some colour, but also smell great and are not sticky. Win, Win. Oh and there are tonnes of colours to choose from.
I chose two precision liners, one lip and one eye. Both of which I really like. They are made with jojoba oil and synthetic wax for smooth application and long lasting finish. What I really loved it that they’re waterproof, smudge-proof (nothing worse then raccoon eyes) and long-wearing. Similar to the lip glosses, the colour choices are endless.
This is one product I am always nervous to try as a new product because I like what I like. The problem with a lot of bronzers is they tend to make you look orange, not cool. What I really liked about the beachfront bronzer is that one half is matte and the other half is shimmer. The colour payoff is great, not too much, but just enough. Fabulous.
Glorious Face and Eye Primer
Prior to this primer, I have never used one before. I don’t wear foundation so I never really saw the reason to. This primer has changed my mind. It glides on nicely and a little goes a long way. The primer claims to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles and make your make-up last forever. I do agree that it has increased my makeups longevity. What’s neat, It can be used on face, eyelids or even in your hair to smooth frizzies.
I did like all of the Younique products, my two favourites were the mascara and the primer. Here and here are a couple posts where I'm wearing Younique products. If you live in the GTA/Hamilton/Niagara area please contact my friend Stephanie. She’s super helpful and amazing! Check her out on her website Instagram & Facebook. 3 days til Christmas!!
My very first post on my blog was this one. I contemplated whether or not I should cut my hair. That was 5 months ago, boy does time fly!! At that point I wasn’t quite ready to drastically cut my hair. As a side note: I have had my hair short before, chin length actually for the longest time and I loved it. But for the past 4 years or so, it’s been long and I have also adored that!
My decision to cut my hair was based on a couple of factors.
One, I wasn’t sure that I was entirely ready to make the commitment to make a change. But after mulling it over for 5 months, I finally came to terms with making the cut. Two, I worried there would be times that I would miss my long locks, or that I would miss doing my sock bun or throwing my hair up in a quick pony.
I booked an appointment with my ‘hair guy’, Ryan (he is the best), and he chopped off 5 inches. He left my ‘Lob’ on the longer side, so I could still easily put it up. Automatically I was in love with my hair, I keep thinking to myself why didn’t I do this sooner. I have even been contemplating going shorter.
Since I have made the cut, I have had some of my friends and family members do the same thing and say that they have been too scared or not had the confidence to do it and that I have inspired them. Hearing that made me so happy! I am not claiming to be the first woman to have cut my hair into a ‘lob’ or to make a drastic change, but I do think for a lot of women it makes a difference if it’s someone you know who does it.
I have always been a very confident person. Sometimes confidence can be mistaken for being vain, arrogant, egotistical or all of the above. One of the best things about being confident is that you never question your choices or ask others for their approval. Unfortunately, many women lack self-confidence and are insecure, especially when it comes to their looks.
As a woman, mother and teacher, I hope to inspire my friends, children and students to have confidence in who they are and that the only opinion that matters is their own!
Me with Long Hair....
Me with the Lob...
Ever since I was little and wanted to wear makeup, my mom always said no. She was a big advocate for less is more, especially when it came to makeup and hair. I wasn’t allowed (and didn’t want to) wear makeup when I was in elementary school, nor was I allowed to dye my hair. When I reached high school, I pleaded with my mom to wear a little makeup, and she allowed me to wear mascara. Good compromise because it is still my #1 makeup must have and I don't leave the house without it on. I have never worn foundation (except for my wedding and my SIL's), and I am nor sure if I will ever start. I hate how it feels on my skin.
Now, as an adult I am so glad that my mom never let me wear makeup and if I have a daughter, I will be exactly the same way. As a momma, it feels like I have very little time to do anything. Makeup is one of those things. I have some holy grail products that I have used for years, and these are the products I use most often.
I begin by washing my face with my favourite cleanser and I follow that by moisturizing with this face cream. Once I have done that I begin with my first product.
1. Nars Creamy Concealer, $35.00
I apply this concealer under my eyes in a triangular shape, I also apply it to any red areas that are on my face. I either use my fingers to blend or I use this real techniques brush. I love this concealer, it goes on smoothly and does a great job of concealing under eye circles and any discolouration that I might have. It does have a high price point, but if you're willing to splurge it is worth it.
2. L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara, $7.00
Mascara is the key element to the 5 Minute Face. It opens up tired eyes and gives some life to your face. I love me some mascara, no matter what makeup look I am trying to achieve mascara is essential. I am pretty generous with the amount that I apply, usually 2-3 coats.
3. Lise Watier Bronzer in Havana, $35.00
I wear bronzer year round. It gives you a beautiful sun-kissed look. The key to having that faux glow is finding a good bronzer and knowing how to apply it properly. I apply my bronzer with a big fluffy brush, concentrating on my forehead, bridge of my nose and cheekbones. I have tried many different bronzers, and the struggle is real to find one that doesn’t make you look like an oompa loompa. This bronzer is a less expensive version and I love it as well.
4. Nars Blush in Amour, $35.00
This is a new(er) blush for me. I apply this beautiful blush by starting at the apples of my cheeks and I blend the colour up towards my ears, I finish off by blending it with a brush.I have lately become obsessed with blush. It gives colour and brightens up your face, and is definitely needed in these cold temperatures. I have always been a fan of MAC blushes, this one is my favourite. More recently I have fallen in love with Nars Blushes, they are extremely long lasting and have fantastic pay off. Just be mindful that less is more with Nars Blushes, otherwise you could end up looking like a clown.
5. Dior Addict Lip Glow, $37.00 & MAC Lipstick in Creme Cup, $19.00
Lastly, I finish off my look with a Lip Balm or Lipstick. I chose both of these because I use them more often than any of my other lip products. The Dior Lip Glow I adore and use so much in the winter because my lips are chapped, it creates smooth lips and also provides a pink tint (which varies on each woman). MAC's creme cup is my go to lipstick, it is the perfect pink and looks beautiful on all skin tones.
And that's it! This should take you no longer then 5 minutes, and you will look fresh and ready to start your day.
My desire to have long locks has been an on going battle, until I got pregnant with my son and my hair grew like crazy. It grew so much that I refused to cut it for a year and a half, until my hair dresser told me he had to cut it because the ends were looking a little ratty. My son is 17 months old now and my hair is still long, but I have been getting the itch to cut it into a lob. The lob haircut has been seen all over the red carpet and on a long list of celebrities. I love how the lob is edgy, yet classic and a lot less maintenance. Basically, I am obsessed with the lob. I do, however get obsessed with things very easily, and once I have them I lose interest pretty quickly. I am a little worried about this as once I've cut it there's no going back. To Lob or not to Lob? That is the question!
