Avoid Too Many Prints
This, I think is crucial to having your photos look flawless. Unless you are doing a themed photo shoot, stay away from prints. I recently saw some photos where a large group was all wearing plaid, and all different plaid prints at that. While I am a huge fan of plaid, having your partner or your entire family wear plaid can be a bit much. I find that some prints can be very distracting and can really take away from the photo itself. If you love plaid or a particular print , I would suggest having one person wear plaid or a print and the others wear a solid colour. In our Christmas photos from last year, I wore a buffalo check plaid top, my son also had plaid on underneath the cutest little reindeer sweater, and my husband wore solid black.
Choosing clothing items that have texture always photograph so beautifully. Whether that be a sweater, top, or an accessory like a hat or scarf, it always adds dimension to your photos. In our fall family photos, my sweater had some texture in it, as did Jaxson’s. Knits are always a great choice and look lovely in photos.
Stay tuned for next week, I will be sharing my last two tips!!
