Like most people, I have some pet peeves or annoyances if you will. Some of them are (but not limited to): waiting in line, dishonesty, panty hose... the list continues. The focus of this particular pet peeve; dressing appropriately for the weather.
I get it, the stores are full of fall and winter clothes- boots, jeans, beautiful chunky knits, all things that I love! Just because it’s ‘fall season’ does not mean that you need to dress for it. I am a believer in dressing for the temps, not for the season. Until this weekend, it has been 30 degrees (86 F)….hot as you know what! It’s still been summer weather. The other day I was dressed for said weather, wearing jean shorts & a t-shirt, when someone told me I looked ‘summery’. Thank you, Captain obvious, although its September, its still summer! Would it be more appropriate for me to wear the snow pants that I saw at MEC the other day? !
My point to all of this- while maybe I look ‘summery’ (it’s still been summer weather), maybe you’re wanting to wear those OTK boots you’ve been dying to wear, don’t do it- you will look silly and to boot you’ll be sweating profusely! I fully believe for dressing for the weather, who cares what season it is in fashion, if we were to follow that I would be wearing a parka now and a bikini in March! This outfit that I am wearing is super comfortable and can be worn in the summer & into the fall months (when its actually cold). I really believe in transitional pieces, items that carry you from one season to the next and I believe this sweater is one of them.
